I started doing software development as a hobby back in 1997 using Perl and text files as databases to create dynamic web applications, mainly CMS and search engines.
I expanded my knowledge when started to use GNU/LINUX in 1998 improving development related to server using PHP and system administration using GNU/Bash scripting.
Work with everyday issues helped me to accurate the sense of problem solving, how to analyze the symptoms to find the cause, where to look for information and how to solve it directly in the root.
Around 2000 I started to develop software for large companies such as HP, Apple and Disney what gave me enormous background and awareness of high availability and scalability matters.
An attempt to have my own business happened in 2003, with two friends we opened Devel-IT specialized in solutions for wireless internet providers, there I gain some experience with customer relationship and wireless topology. Nowadays Devel-IT is focused on VOIP solutions.
Always looking for new technologies and new experiences I moved to Europe in 2004, after work in the Portuguese and Italian market for a couple of years I end up in The Netherlands since end of 2005.
I developed lots of software for the world's largest navigation solution provider, with their famous PND's, for almost five years acting on different positions until 2010 when I became Software Development Manager in a multimedia company in Amsterdam.
Now I have a really nice and respected brand in The Netherlands to take care of the web department.
